Working with the Rutgers Health Service Corps to make our dream a reality.
SUNSAFE was founded by four alumni of the Rutgers Health Service Corps’ PHOENIX summer program. At PHOENIX, the SUNSAFE team learned about population health outreach and the importance of cancer screenings.
Leila and Noah brainstormed SUNSAFE as their PHOENIX final project. By increasing skin cancer awareness and sharing the importance of prevention, one of the most prominent types of cancer in the United States could be reduced significantly.
RHSC awarded the SUNSAFE team a $2,500 microgrant to kickstart the project. The team plans to put the money toward online campaigns and sunscreen drives!
